Mike Flynn’s interest in racing started from a young age. He grew up in the Emerald Isle following the Ireland Rally series around the country. After training with Volkswagen, Audi, and Mercedes in Europe, Irish Mike moved to the United States in 1985 to open up his serviceshop. After about ten years in the states, he joined SCCA and started to race a White Rabbit in local Florida events.
Irish Mike went on to campaign several SARRC championships making a move to IMSA as the next stepping stone for the growing team. In 2016, Irish Mike’s Racing entered three Hyundai Genesis in IMSA Michelin Pilot Challenge competition.
Irish Mike’s son Conor followed in his father’s footsteps in the driver’s seat. The father and son branched into the Trans Am Series Presented by Pirelli with a Porsche 99. That season proved successful as the team took a win at Michelin Raceway Road Atlanta along with two second-place finishes at Sebring and Mid-Ohio. Placing in the top five in each race in the 2017 season helped the team finish second in the points championship. Conor Flynn took home the Rookie of the Year award in his dominating debut season.
Irish Mike’s Racing returns to the paddock of multiple racing series in the 2021 season offering top-tier race preparation and on-site services for customers.
